TRANSITIVE OR INTRANSITIVE VERBS.

transitive and intransitive verbs

  • Transitive Verbs require an object

want candy.
He carried the bag.
Jose thanked Wayne.

  • Intransitive Verbs don't take an object.

He ran.
The dog barked.
Clarissa winked.

  • Some verbs  can be Transitive and Intransitive

They cheered.
They cheered the band.
